Ray Miller

Ray MillerAnother Houston news legend passed away Saturday, September 27th. Former Channel 2 news director  Ray Miller leaves behind a legacy of the highest broadcasting standards. He died of natural causes after a long bout of ill health. He leaves behind a loving family. His wife of 61 years, Veronica Gray Miller, passed away exactly one month before. A memorial service was held at St. Michael Catholic Church with a private burial at Glenwood Cemetery.

It seems such a short time ago that we all enjoyed Ray’s talk to our annual gathering in 2005.  He will be missed, not only by Houstonians, but by all of us who worked with him throughout the years.

Ron StoneOn Tuesday, May 13th Ron Stone, long time KPRC news anchor and Houston broadcasting legend, lost his battle with cancer.

Quoting the KPRC web site, “Stone, who turned 72 on April 6, spent more than 30 years on the air in Houston. He was a daily fixture for KPRC viewers from 1972 until he retired in 1992 and formed a production company. Prior to that, Stone worked at KHOU TV for 10 years.”

We’ll all miss Ron.  He was more than a co-worker.  He was a friend.
