Marcie Corder passed away on January 8,2022 after a couragious battle with a glioblastoma brain tumor. Marcie was a staff announcer at KPRC-TV for many years, doing commercial and industrial voice-overs as well as appearing on several on-camera television commercials.
For decades, Marcie served Sight into Sound, both as a volunteer and part time staff. She was dedicated to helping anyone in need and always greeted everyone with a smile on her face and in her voice.

Ron Franklin, former Channel 2 Sports Director and anchor for much of the 1980s passed away January 7, 2022. He was 79 years old.
After leaving KPRC-TV Ron became the voice of the Houson Oilers and the UT football and basketball Longhorns. Nationally, Franklin was perhaps best known for several decades at ESPN, where he served in different roles as a play-by-play announcer calling games and hosting shows.

Larry White, age 77, died October 27, 2021. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Elnora White and his brother Carl Edward (Bubba) White.
After having worked for 38 years at KPRC TV, Channel 2, he retired. He spent his later years cooking, enjoying friends and family, actively involved in the St Mary’sMen’s Choir, and caring for his beloved dog, and companion, Rose.

Bill Springer passed away June 1st, 2021 in Georgetown, Texas. After beginning his career in television in Pueblo, Colorado, Bill settled in Houston, Texas. Bill’s tenure at Channel 2 lasted more than 20 years, the bulk of which were spent as a contributing producer of the long running weekly Eyes of Texas television series. Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jana Springer.

Russell “Russ” D. Turner, 82, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, in The Woodlands, Texas. Russ was an engineer at Channel 2 where he had the opportunity to work on most of the space shots since 1968. He began his Channel 2 career in 1961 at the Quonset Hut on Post Oak Road and retired in 2009 after 49 years with KPRC-TV.
